biography

origins

I am a native of New York City, based in Queens. Proud alumnus of Baruch College (BA Mathematics) and Bard Early Colleges (AA Liberal Arts).

music

Growing up, I took up piano and guitar, which eventually channeled into music production during my time in college. Naturally, this led me to study DJing/turntablism in the summer of 2019. After attending the 2019 Goldie Awards later that year, I was inspired to learn the art form properly and purchased a pair of Technics 1200s, vinyl records, and a mixer the following week. I primarily spin Hip-Hop, R&B, and House, and can be found spinning at various venues across NYC.

I have received mentorship from DJ Rob Swift, as a student of the Brolic Army DJ School. As a student of the Brolic Army, I am continuously studying not only turntablism techniques but also Hip-Hop culture/history. I am always conscious of channeling the pioneers and innovators of Hip-Hop, and seeking to advance the art form.

photography / visual arts

I began photography in the 7th grade and learned the foundations on a Nikon D100 handed down from my uncle. During high school, I participated in the yearbook committee, co-ran the photo/interview blog, and took a photography course taught by Anne Turyn. Additionally, I have worked as an assistant for the late Hannah Thomson, a product photographer for WESTERLIND, and as a freelance photographer for A.R.T.SY. Magazine.

9-to-5

I currently work in financial services, focusing on business intelligence/data analytics and developing infrastructure that supports it. I am passionate about the data sciences and helping stakeholders uncover insights that drive business value.

Previously worked in healthcare (health informatics) and developing digital solutions that ultimately improved patient outcomes. Before this, I started my career in book publishing, doing FP&A/business intelligence.
